Debbie Carlton teaches a range of polymer clay and mixed polymer/metal clay courses at the Sussex Jewellery School.

Image of Debbie Carlton smiling to cameraDebbie started jewellery making following the completion of a diploma in figurative sculpture in 2004.

At that time she 'discovered' two little known and unusual and materials; precious metal clay (fine silver) and the colourful polymer clay and has been exploring these and other more traditional materials ever since, to create beautiful one-off pieces of contemporary jewellery.

Although very different, both materials are new and vibrant, and offer the 'sculptor within' the opportunity to create shape and form through modelling using hands and a few simple tools.

Debbie shows her work at top craft fairs, such as 'Treasure', and teaches both precious metal clay and polymer jewellery making to beginners and advanced students around the UK.  Her blog (URL below) is well worth a read!
