We aim to work to clear contracts that are easily understandable and fair to all.
Please note that by booking a place on a Sussex Jewellery School workshop, you are deemed to have accepted the following terms and conditions, which are emailed or snail mailed to all students at the time of booking. Please add sussexjewelleryschool@gmail.com to your email address book to ensure you receive pre-course info you will be sent.
Note that terms and conditions may subject to change without notice. It is your responsibility to check for changes to the terms and conditions each time you use the website or book or attend a class.
Accessability of premises: Unfortunately, the studio workshop is on the first floor, and may not be accessible if you have any mobility challenges. Please contact us before booking if this affects you.
Pregnancy: Some courses (including, but not limited to, enameling and resin courses) may not be suitable if you are or may be pregnant at the date of the course. Please contact us before booking if this affects you.
Respiratory diseases: If you suffer from a respiratory disorder, you may need to wear a nose/mouth mask or respirator during some tasks, especially those that create dust. Please contact us before booking if this affects you.
Payments: Full payment for workshops is required on booking and is non-refundable and non-transferable. The Sussex Jewellery School is owned and operated by Phoenix Homeopathy Ltd, so your payment may show on your card statement as being paid to this company.
Refunds and cancellations: Our jewellery-making classes are in demand and places are limited. Regrettably, for logistical reasons, we are unable to offer refunds or transfers on any of our courses. All bookings are final.
Transfers: The Sussex Jewellery School does not allow credits, transfers between courses or transfers between students.
Attendance: You will gain most from your course if you arrive promptly and attend every session. Please always phone to let us know if you can't attend or are going to be late. In some cases, missing part of a course may make it difficult to take part fully in later ones. Essential health & safety inductions and demonstrations often take place within the first half-hour of a course starting, so please make every effort to arrive on time for your course sessions. If you are booked on a course and you do not turn up on the day, no refund will be given.
Fitness to participate: We take the health and safety of our students seriously. While on our premises, if it appears to the tutor in charge that you may be under the influence of alcohol or drugs or that it may be unsafe for you to participate, for your own safety and the safety of other students you will not be permitted to continue with your course or workshop. In this case, you will be asked to leave the premises, and no refund will be due.
Course cancellations and changes: We aim to run all courses as advertised, but, very occasionally, we may have to cancel a course. On the rare occasion that we have to cancel a course, you will always be offered an alternative date or a full refund. Refunds are not available if the tutor or location of the course changes. We reserve the right to change course tutors or venues (within a 15 mile radius) from those advertised. We will give you as much notice as possible (by email or phone if we have your number) if we have to change or cancel your course: however, we cannot be held responsible for your travel or accommodation costs incurred.
Insurance: As all bookings are final, you are strongly advised to take out insurance to cover the cost of the course in the event of your cancellation or non-attendance, and to cover your expenses if necessary, in the event of the course being cancelled.
Several companies offer insurance, including Cancelsure (www.cancelsure-insurance.co.uk), and you are advised to shop around for the best deal. As always with insurance, do check the credentials of the underwriters and check that the cover you are taking out is adequate for your needs. Please note that we cannot vouch for Cancelsure or any other insurance company.
Prices: All prices are quoted per person, in UK£ sterling.
Minimum age: By booking a place on the workshop, you confirm that all attendees you have booked for are aged 16 or over at the date of the workshop. Please contact us before booking a place for a person under 16 years of age.
Thank you for taking the time to read these terms and conditions, and we hope you enjoy your course at the Sussex Jewellery School!
