In this NEW full-day Fingerprint Jewellery for Profit intensive workshop (scroll up or down for the alternative shorter Fingerprint Charms Short Course workshop) you will learn:
- How to produce stunning and stylish jewellery from customers' fingerprint impressions
- How to stamp or inscribe metal clay jewellery with wording or initials
- How to get a professional perfect mirror finish on every piece
- How to solder sterling silver cufflink backs securely to metal clay jewellery
- How to correctly price your jewellery for profit
- The legal requirements for selling jewellery in the UK
- You will also receive valuable and practical advice and information to help you to set up and run your own fingerprint or other personalised jewellery business from home, selling to customers in the UK and abroad.
During the morning on this course, you will practice these skills, and will get the chance to make the first of your sales samples - the front pieces for a pair of fingerprint cufflinks. In the afternoon, you will learn how to solder cufflink fittings on, and will explore the business and marketing side of running your own fingerprint jewellery business.
This course is suitable for those with some experience of working with precious metal clay, and is an ideal follow-on course from the Beginnings in Silver day. (Call us on 07939 696 465, or email us, if you'd like to check whether the course is likely to suit your level of expertise.)
This course is run by Sarah Jane Whittaker MCSJ Dip MC of fingerprint jewellery business Dabs & Doodles, and runs from 10am to 5pm, with an hour's break for lunch. Strictly limited to a maximum of five students, to ensure individual attention.
This course fee includes materials worth around £55, including silver clay (PMC3 or Art Clay 650) to make your cufflinks with, silver solder, and a pair of heavyweight sterling silver cufflink backs for each student.
Students taking this course often go on to set up their own small home-based business, making custom silver fingerprint jewellery. Why not offer your customers more, with our Etching on Silver 1-day course, coming in 2012: you'll be able to offer quality children's drawings on silver jewellery (so sweet!).
"Really enjoyed the course...I had travelled from Ireland. Very worthwhile and interesting course run by a very lovely tutor with great patience when it came to my soldering skills. Will definitely hope to come back to learn more." Bernadette Maher McGinley, Eire
