Colourful Aluminium Jewellery with Lindsey Mann, 30 June - 1 July 2012

£215.00

Course summary  This workshop offers an introduction to the colouring and decoration of anodised aluminium, and is perfect for anyone looking to inject a little colour into their jewellery-making.

What will I learn?  During the 2-day workshop, you will find out all about the anodising process, and will learn through demonstrations and experimentation about colouring media and techniques to apply to aluminium.   Techniques covered include dip-dying, direct application, printmaking and the clever use of resists.

What will I make?   You will be encouraged to get creative and experiment with the techniques before focusing on your own project, to produce at least two finished pieces of jewellery.  With guidance from the tutor, you will construct pieces using simple jewellery-making techniques (such as using a piercing saw, or riveting) to make lightweight, colourful creations,  You can expect to make at least two pieces of jewellery during the course, and you will be able to take these home with you at the end of the course.
